Data We Collect

LinkScreen collects no personal information: there is no account system, no developer-run server, and no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK of any kind. Your device list, quality and frame-rate settings, and the free tier's per-connection quota counters are stored only on this device (app container and system preferences storage). VNC and SSH credentials are written to the iOS Keychain only when you explicitly enable “remember password” or after a successful SSH wake-up authentication; the SSH wake-up host-key fingerprint and the optional app lock's custom passcode are likewise kept in the Keychain — all erased when you delete the app. The Face ID / Touch ID app lock only invokes the system's on-device authentication; the app never touches or stores any biometric data. All communication with your Mac — the remote screen, keyboard and mouse input, and the text you fill in — travels directly to your Mac inside your local network and never passes through any third-party server.

Permissions: Local Network access is used solely to discover and connect to Macs on your network via Bonjour (service type _rfb._tcp, plus _ssh._tcp and _sftp-ssh._tcp for probing freshly rebooted Macs and SSH wake-up), and only while scanning or connecting. Microphone and Speech Recognition access is requested only when you use the minimal keyboard's voice input. Speech-to-text is performed by the iOS system speech recognition service and processed by Apple — depending on the language and device support, audio may need to be sent to Apple's servers. LinkScreen itself does not record, store, or upload any audio or recognized text; only the final recognized text is sent to your Mac. Pro membership purchases, restorations, status checks, and redeem-code use go through Apple's StoreKit; the app never collects or stores payment details, and purchase state is kept on this device only.

How We Use Information

Any information described above is used only to keep the app working properly, respond to your support requests, troubleshoot and fix issues, and improve the product. We never use it for any other purpose, never for advertising or profiling, and we never sell it to anyone.

Data Storage & Security

LinkScreen is designed around data minimisation: your data stays on your device by default (or syncs, at your option, to a cloud account you control), and our servers do not store your data. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information received through support channels from unauthorised access — though no system can promise absolute security.

Third-Party Services

This app integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We never collect or store your payment details — purchases are processed by Apple.

Retention & Deletion of Support Inquiries

When you contact us by email or similar means, we receive the information you provide (such as your email address and a description of the issue). We keep it only as long as needed to handle your request; you may ask us to delete it at any time.

Your Rights

Under applicable laws and regulations (including the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China), you have the following rights:

• Access & correction — view and edit your content and settings in the app at any time;
• Deletion — uninstalling the app removes data inside the app container; content you exported to a folder of your choice or elsewhere is not deleted automatically and can be managed in its location; if you enabled cloud sync, you can also delete data in the corresponding cloud service;
• Withdrawing consent — you can revoke permissions anytime in system settings; revocation does not affect data already stored locally;
• Account deletion — not applicable: the app requires no account.

Protection of Minors

LinkScreen is a general-audience app. We never knowingly collect personal information or market to minors. Under the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China (PIPL), personal information of minors under 14 is sensitive personal information and may only be processed with a guardian's consent. If you are under 14, please read this policy with a guardian and use the app only with their consent. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor under 14 without guardian consent, we will delete it as soon as possible.

Updates to This Policy

This policy may change as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page with a new effective date. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.

Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China and applies to all supported platform versions of LinkScreen.
