Before you report
- Make sure StudyEn is up to date (the app is not on the App Store yet; beta users please use the latest build);
- Restart the app and try once more;
- If the issue involves your learning data, run a “Me → Backup” first so nothing is lost while we investigate.
Please include
- App version (visible on the Me screen)
- iOS version and device model
- Description of the problem and steps to reproduce
- The diagnostic log: export it on the Me screen and attach it (the log contains run-state only, never your learning content)
Purchases and refunds
StudyEn contains no in-app purchases and no ads — there is nothing to restore or refund.

Frequently asked questions
Didn't find your answer? Reach me through any channel above.
Is my learning data uploaded anywhere?
Not to the developer. StudyEn has no servers, the app itself makes no network requests, and there are no analytics or advertising SDKs. Your progress, course files, recordings, and diary entries all live in the app's folder on your device. When iOS iCloud Backup is enabled, the system automatically backs up your learning state and spoken-diary recordings to your own iCloud account, which the developer cannot read; course audio is not backed up.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
Three ways: ① keep iCloud Backup enabled on both phones and restore from backup — your learning state and spoken-diary recordings come back automatically (course audio isn't backed up; just re-import it); ② export a state file under "Me → Backup" on the old phone and import it on the same screen of the new one; ③ copy the whole "StudyEn" folder to the same location on the new phone via the Files app (or Finder on a computer).
How do I import my own course?
First create a folder in the Files app containing the course audio and matching subtitles (LRC / SRT / VTT / TXT supported; names matching the audio work best). Then choose Import on StudyEn's Courses screen and pick that folder — the app scans the audio and pairs subtitles by file name. One folder is one course; importing never moves or deletes your originals.
Where are my shadowing recordings kept? Are they sent anywhere?
They are kept only in the app's folder on your device. The app contains no networking code, so recordings are never sent anywhere; delete them in the app, or browse and manage the files yourself in the Files app.
The daily study reminder doesn't arrive.
Check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → StudyEn, then set the reminder time again on the Me screen in the app. Reminders are local notifications that need no network, but they must be re-authorised after the app is deleted.
